History

Heart and Key was created in 1946 to develop, build and promote the highest type of school spirit among the students. The name Heart and Key, proposed by junior Bobbie Jean Johnson, signified “that the heart of Henderson may be opened by the key of loyalty.” The Heart and Key Stand was located next to Haygood Stadium.
