Sevier County Club

Note

From Sevier County, home of the Elberta peach, the luscious strawberry, the delicious melon and the snow white cotton, you would expect, of course, the very best students. That's us. She has furnished the brawn for football, the skill for baseball, the wit for Cottage No. 5, the art for Paradise Alley and the beauty for Scalawag. Her students are the pride of Mr. Haygood's heart and the joy of Mrs. Meek. What would our football teams be without Captain Mauldin, Roger, Bizzell, Edwards and Turrentine; or our baseball team without its invincible Zachry, its Edwards, Mauldin and Johnson? Cottage No. 5 would be as dull as Mr. Rapp's talks were it not for 'Ham' and 'Manager.' Paradise Ally would totter in ruins were it not for Sevier County's fair daughters, while Scalawag Hall would suffer without its Mary. In fact the whole College would crash in ruin were it not for us. Such is our opinion of ourselves.
